Sheldon Borenstein
With over 33 years of classic animation, storyboard illustration, anatomy, and master figure drawing experience. This unique set of skills has enabled him to work in a vast number of areas providing his expertise and knowledge where needed. He has worked on television shows including: Fat Albert, Tom and Jerry, and He-Man and the Masters of the Universe. His feature film experience includes: Space Jam, Quest for Camelot, Fern Gully, and Swan Princess. He worked as an art director for marketing agencies as well as doing illustrations in the art department for aerospace programs. He has 18 years of experience in advertising working as an account executive managing large print advertising projects. He also was a consultant for a variety of fields including: video games, education, and most recently homicide.
In addition Sheldon has 30 years of teaching experience. He has given lectures at schools throughout the country. He taught a training program for Warner Bros. feature animation that involved training over 100 new recruits and employees. He also taught at Warner Brothers’ United Kingdom, Disney Animation, Denmark, and Texas locations. He has 20 years of university teaching experience. He taught classical figure drawing at California State University, Northridge for two years. Foundation drawing, painting, and design as it applies to feature films at Chapman University’s Dodge Film School. Over 16 years of teaching experience at San Jose State University where he is currently teaching figure drawing and anatomy for animation.
